Excitement mounts for weekend of quality folk music and fine ales

Final preparations are being made for the inaugural Potbelly Folk Festival…

in answer to some FAQ’s:

The event will definitely have a bar, serving local Potbelly beers as well as other alcoholic and soft drinks.

During the afternoons there will be a cafe in the church rooms, with the music piped through, serving hot drinks, simple soups, bacon rolls, sausage rolls, cakes etc. at reasonable prices.

As Kettering Arts centre is right in the town centre there are food venues very close by, (eg there is a fish and chip shop opposite) and you are welcome to bring food into the cafe area to eat.

There will be arts and crafts (also in the church rooms) available at certain times over the weekend for children to have a go at. Under 8’s must be accompanied in the craft room. Children are very welcome and we can provide special rates for large groups on request (email willsbecky@googlemail.com or call 01536 513858)

The event is a series of concerts in our historic and atmospheric church building (with great acoustics and lots of space!) by a varied selection of folk acts. We have packed in as many as possible over the weekend, so it is a fairly tightly scheduled line-up. Please go to our facebook page to see the full line-up. There may well be a chance for singarounds or sessions after the headliners for those who are night owls! (on Sat night, particularly)

Tickets are for the whole day (3pm til late) or for the whole weekend and ticket holders will have their hand stamped so that they can come and go during the event (weekenders, keep your ticket stub overnight, assuming you might wash your stamp off!).

Tickets are:

£11 for an adult day ticket, £5.50 for a day ticket for children and concessions (unemployed, pensioners etc)

£17 for an adult weekend ticket, £8.50 for weekend ticket for children and concessions.

Tickets are available online here, or via St Andrew’s Church (01536 513858) or at Kettering Tourist Information, where you can reserve tickets by phone on 01536 410 226 or at Kettering Waterstones or on the door.

  1. Hi I wonder if you have an email for Peter Dunn the Northumbrian Pipe player that you could let me have. He played for us last weekend at CranfordLive! and I would like to send him a letter of thanks. I only have his phone number however.

Thanks in advance for your help
