20th December 2011 7.00pm   Tickets £5 (£3 concessions) available on the door only

We are delighted to be welcoming deLiberateARTS, a community theatre & education initiative. This performance will showcase 3 of their recent theatre projects as they launch in Kettering in January 2012.

deLiberateARTS was founded by Evie Haynes in September 2008 following the innovation of a series of community empowerment projects and the creation of an inclusive theatre company for young people with learning disabilities. Evie has had experience in teaching and theatre

The evening will feature three performances:

‘Stand Up’ (a piece of Verbatim Theatre about experiences of discrimination in a college). ‘Stand Up’ was awarded exemplar in equality and diversity with the National Association of Colleges 2010 and has since been used as part of the Anti Hate Crime incentive with Staffordshire Police.

In Life and Death is the story of a 22 year old woman from Northants who died only very recently of Aids. It is based upon several interviews with the young girl and demonstrates the importance of HIV awareness as the amount of UK sufferers builds daily.

There will also be a performance of ‘In Another World’; gritty and hard-hitting Verbatim Theatre engaging women and men who have been subjected to domestic abuse.

The evening will not be suitable for children due to the adult themes in some of the pieces.
