Having played together in various forms for over 10 years, World Poetry Slam Champion Harry Baker teams up with BFF/Jazz Musician Chris Read as the imaginatively titled ‘Harry and Chris’. After a debut sell-out run of ‘The Harry and Chris Show’ at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016, they are bringing their brand of poetry, music, love and laughter all around the country.

“A combination of catchy hooks and breathtaking verbal ingenuity makes this a winning hour… The quality and quantity of laughs on offer is generous and yet the show is cynicism-free, the tone unapologetically feel-good.”

Gecko’s playful lyrics cover life’s big things; think iPhones, the Mona Lisa & Grant Mitchell. greenbelt_logo_include-with_chris-and-harry-eventHe has appeared at Glastonbury & shared stages with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Robin Ince, Josie Long & Billy Bragg. In 2016 he took his debut hour ‘A Lizard Goes a Long Way’ to the Edinburgh Fringe and now joins ‘Harry & Chris’ on their national tour.

‘”It made me instantly happy.”
Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1

harry-baker-the-sunshine-kid“I do hope you like that as much as I do it just completely charmed me, we had a stack of the usual 150-200 records coming in that week, lots of bands sounding like other bands past and present pounding out of the speakers and then that came on… I think he’s quite brilliant.”
Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

“Guaranteed to put a smile on even the grumpiest of faces… an absolute favourite.”
Gary Crowley, BBC London Introducing

“Raising a laugh and a lump in the throat all at once is a good trick – possibly the best. Gecko makes it look easy. A gifted young comic songwriter with charm and style to spare… What sets him above many of his contemporaries is his restlessly inventive approach to character. One song offers what may well be the defining chorus of a generation.”
