Ward and Parker are John Parker previously of JCB song fame in Nizlopi and Cliff Ward, founding member of folk super group The Willows.  After being thrown together by Stu Hanna to form The Megson Band back in 2016 the duo now seem like an act destiny brought together.

Between them hold many years experience on the stage and are excited to be performing together. JP has worked with a huge number of acts over the years and performed extensively all over the world with acts such as Ed Sheeran, Kate Rusby, Will Pound, Polly Paulusma and Jake Morley to name but a few!

After many years compiling a long list of songs Cliff felt the time was right to start going out playing them and John was onboard from the outset.  The combination of JP’s beautiful soaring double bass and beatboxing style accompanying Ward’s songs and guitar playing is the perfect mix and is not to be missed.

“Your voice was sweet and joyful. Bass playing was remarkable. Overall sound great. Best act for me at the festival!” – Ian Murray, Ely Folk Festival 2018

Alternative, acoustic, jazz, folk pop with influences from John Martyn, John Butler, Newton Faulkner and more… Expect a diverse set from upbeat pop to soul searching songs of love and loss and all performed with fine musicality and a real sense of two musicians both performing in the moment.

“A fantastic duo with huge potential that are really extending the boundaries of folk; a must watch act!”

– Cambridge Folk Club

With support from brilliant and rising local star, Kenneth J Nash

Kenneth J Nash has never done things the easy way, but his courage to confront the darker moments of his past has led him to spending his years on the music scene carving out a thriving repertoire of haunting music that stirs the heart and spears the soul.

With a knack for blending his smooth, emotive voice with a lyrical prowess heavily influenced by his time spent on the road as a musician and DJ that threw his personal life into turmoil, his music resonates as a poignant story of a man who’s been to hell and back more times than he can remember, but has come out the other side stronger.

He has written and released five LPs under his own name (In the company of ghosts, Under a gypsy moon, We all belong, The brewer & the dealer & The fall of Eden) several live EPs, and makes regular appearances at festivals, folk clubs and acoustic showcases throughout the UK.

Recent highlight live shows of his career include playing the Hard Rock Cafe stage at the 2015 Isle of Wight Festival and being selected to appear at Seth Lakeman’s alternative Hootenanny at The Convent. He has provided support for artists such as Eliza Carthy, The Wonderstuff, Mark Geary, Suzanne Vega and Seth Lakeman.

His songs have received radio play, been featured in the press, released on popular podcasts worldwide and most recently featured in the soundtrack of a Hollywood movie, while Independent Music News twice picked him as one of their ‘artists to watch’ and Folk Radio UK nominated him artist of the month and his LP album of the month in January 2015.

The LP ‘the fall of Eden’ was nominated as ‘Best LP from a male folk artist’ by Folkwords and he continues to receive accolades for both his live and recorded works.
