KAC_LogoKettering Arts Centre is an excellent venue for live music: a wonderful, atmospheric, historic Listed building with a warm and bright acoustic.

Over the years we have hosted a huge variety of acts – quality musical acts from folk to pop, jazz to brass, roots and rock and lots in between. Highlights have included Fairport Convention and the Blues Band, as well as our well-loved Potbelly Folk Festival.

We have recently found it hard to sell enough tickets to make music events viable and are currently taking a break to take stock and look for acts and events that will excite and draw in music lovers.

  1. Chris Brown says:

    Hello Nick,

    My name is Chris Brown.

I’m working on behalf of Lucy Ward, a young folk singer/songwriter recently signed to Navigator Records.

She plays guitar and performs her own songs in addition to traditional and contemporary folk.

She was a finalist in the BBC Young Folk Awards ’09, since then she has been singing in folk clubs and festivals around the country (see below).

Her debut album ‘Adelphi Has To Fly’ produced by Stu Hanna from Megson will be released on 13th June ’11. It has had excellent reviews from Mike Harding and Maverick .

If you have the time please check her out on or which contains a number of performance videos.

If you like what you see/hear, please consider her for a booking at Kettering Arts Centre / the next Potbelly Folk Festival or any other events you organise and let me know the details

    Many Thanks

“Lucy Ward – a most amazing CD – totally totally brilliant – some trad, some stuff of her own raw and powerful and sparse but meaningful arrangements… made my day”

    Mike Harding

” Lucy is a lovely young talent with a breathtaking presence on stage.
Her totally unpretentious outlook and her warmth melts the hearts of audiences wherever she performs. Her disarming personality, strong, pitch perfect delivery and the maturity of her songs can reduce an audience to tears, but a Lucy Ward set will always send you away feeling uplifted. Lucy has that extra something that will see her reach the top echelon in the folk world.”

“Staggeringly, jaw-droppingly,phenomenally breathtaking. Out of everyone I hadn’t previously seen live she was the undoubted star. Hugely talented but it’s the sheer energy of her performance which really stays in the mind. Best stage presence of anyone I’ve seen this year”.

“Providing the festival with possibly the most touching moment, Lucy performed a beautiful rendition of her own song “Bricks and Love ” featuring the chorus of the traditional Eriskay Love Lilt which I defy anyone to be unmoved by”.

“By the second line of her second song I knew she was a star so booked her for the club and the festival before her fee went up!”

    Bob Bignall (Bromsgrove)
