Winner of the EMMA Award for Best Comedienne 2003, Ria Lina makes an impact with her dry wit and bawdy ukulele songs.  Having been a regular in stand-up comedy for the past 10 years both in the UK and abroad, she returns to the circuit after a short family break.

Recent projects include writing for the Ladyboys of Bangkok 2010 “Fantasy & Feathers” tour, and writing/acting for a comedy sketch show for ITV2 (Meet the Blogs).

In the past, Ria has written and presented her own documentary for Channel 4  revealing the truth behind the myths that surround oriental women in Britain; other projects include the comedy series, Malai Monologues, for BBC 3;  The World Stands Up, for Comedy Central (USA), the Paramount Comedy Channel (UK), and the Comedy Network Channel (AUS); and Sweet n’ Sour Comedy Sketch Show for BBC3.

LORNA SHAW

Lorna Shaw is a comedian, writer, actor and improviser.

​As a solo performer, her TV and Radio credits include ‘Plebs’ ITV2, ‘The
Midnight Beast’, E4, BBC Comedy Feeds ‘Life Guru’ and ‘Newsjack’ on BBC
Radio 4 amongst others.

​Lorna was a finalist in the Funny Women Awards 2012 and has performed
sell-out shows to critical acclaim at the Edinburgh fringe with duo That
Pair who’s 2013 show transferred to the Soho Theatre in 2014.

As a solo act Lorna made her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe 2017 and was
featured in Best Jokes of the Fringe at the Edinburgh Festival (Evening
Standard).

​She can be seen performing stand-up and musical comedy all over London and
beyond, as well as appearing as her alter-ego Ava Rage at comedy and cabaret
nights. She is part of the leading improv school, The Free Association

teams, My Brother Jose and the Ladies of FA County. ​

Lorna was shortlisted for the Funny Women writing award 2017 and is
continuing to develop this script and others as well writing sketch comedy
with comedy collective The Greater Good who are launching a YouTube Channel
later in 2018.

​Lorna is currently working on a brand new stand-up show for Edinburgh 2019.
