MARKUS BIRDMAN
Markus Birdman is a veteran of the comedy scene. He was the winner of the Lewisham Comedy Festival 2001 competition, as well as a finalist in The Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award 2000, Jongleur’s New Act 2000, Leicester Comedy Festival New Act 2001.

He took his solo show, “One Step Beyond” to this year’s Edinburgh Fringe and has featured on BBC Radio’s “Spanking New” and is the voice of ITV’s “Blank Screen”, as well as performing on the Paramount Comedy Store series.

“uniquely talented, demonstrates just how it’s done.” The Evening Standard.

“wonderful, extremely versatile.” The Scotsman

“One of the millionaire mirth merchants of the future.” The Metro.

“The crowd fell for his dry witty, confused little boy smutt-schtick in a big way” The Observer.

“Looks like the 4th Muskateer; infectious, likable and popular with the crowd” The Stage.

GEORGE ZACH
George moved from Greece to study Biochemistry in Newcastle Upon Tyne and, in doing so, avoided joining the Greek army for his national service. He discovered stand-up soon after and has gone to sell out his show Greek Tragedy at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and support Luisa Omielan on her Am I Right Ladies tour. Recent BBC One appearances include the One Show and numerous appearances on This Week, discussing the Greek financial crisis.

George’s first gig was on St Patrick’s Day in a dark room above a pub in Newcastle’s city centre. Fortunately for him, it turned out that he had a grasp of the English language as well as a talent for the art of comedy and soon this “really likable comic” went on to play all over the UK and abroad at some of the most prestigious comedy clubs. After impressing in the CKP Lunch Time Special at the Edinburgh Festival he came back with his one man show Greek Tragedy, which recently sold at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He’ll be returning to Australia in 2016 and will also be helping to spearhead a burgeoning comedy scene back home in his native Greece.

“Pulls it off well with a style that is thoughtful and unexpected Broadway Baby

“Accessible, likeable, his jokes are solid and his timing impeccable The List

ANDREW WATTS
Reading Comedy Festival New Act of the Year 2006 Finalist, So You Think You’re Funny 2006 King Gong, the Comedy Store (London) November 2006

Andrew Watts been performing stand-up comedy since February 2006. His defiantly middle-class observational style has endeared him to audiences across London and the Home Counties.

“Observational genius” Three Weeks

“A nice, modest approach … his social awkwardness is what makes him funny” chortle

“Pure genius, in both material and timing.” Surrey Mirror

“Excellent material. Excellent with the audience” Tim Arthur, Time Out

“laugh- out loud funny, wonderfully bizarre ideas.” Chortle

Over the last 2 years, our compere Nick Wills has created a fun and friendly club where top acts love to perform and where the audience play their part in making a great night.
