Gavin Webster

gavin-wbsterGavin Webster has been on the rise. He’s been on the rise for Eighteen years. After making his modest debut in a pub in Gateshead in February 1993 he’s done about three thousand gigs from Aberdeen to Abu Dhabi, Manchester to Melbourne and Hartlepool to Hong Kong. Famed and respected by his peers for his uncompromising and unusual approach and distinctly original routines, he now boasts a large cult following round the country and particularly on his native Tyneside where he sells out theatres with his one man ninety minute shows. Hard edged routines, quick-fire pastiche pieces, moronic jokes and sardonic songs, his unique style has brought him this kind of praise and attention.

“the brilliant Marc Lucero” Daily Mirror

“brilliantly inventive gags, comic master” Chortle

image001An exceptionally talented impressionist, Luke garnered global attention in 2012 with his hit viral video Downstairs At Downton. Since then, Luke has gone from strength to strength, taking his one man show The Only Way Is Downton (described by the Daily Telegraph as a “remarkable tour de force”) to theatres and festivals across the UK, including Latitude and two years at the Edinburgh Fringe. He has also taken the show to Moscow and recently toured an American version, entitled America’s Got Downton, across the USA. 2016 saw Luke return to the Edinburgh Fringe for a sell-out run of new show Judi Dench Stole My Heart.

As well as his live work, Luke also has a burgeoning television and radio career. He recently created and starred in his own review show for ITV2, entitled Luke Kempner’s Impression of 2015, is a regular cast member of BBC3 comedy series Murder In Successville, has appeared on Comedy Central’s Drunk History and has also performed impressions on both Big Brother’s Bit On The Sideand Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side.
