Saturday 8 October – Rubber Wellies – Only one week to go!
Saturday, 8th October

Doors open 7.30pm. Show starts 8pm
For a night out to remember you could do much worse than get your tickets to see The Rubber Wellies in concert at Kettering Arts Centre. There are folk groups and then there are folk groups. They can range from groups fronted by a singer with one hand clamped over an ear standing in front of musicians playing an assortment of traditional instruments to traditional songs being played in a modern style on modern equipment played through a variety of amplified systems.
The Rubber Wellies (formerly Harry Bird and the Rubber Wellies) fit neatly into neither of the above categories. This multi-cultural outfit, its key players are based in Bilbao and Dublin, cover subject matters few other folk groups or individual singers, old style or contemporary, have ever explored. Their subject matter ranges from lizards to Basque cyclists and are all presented to the audience in the Rubber Wellies own style of intimate cabaret complete with joyful sing-a-long choruses and general participatory fun.
At its helm is guitarist Harry Bird who, with the multi-tasking Christophe Capewell and the support of a number of Wellies, have spent the last eight years on the road in venues range from bars and cafes to circus galas, festivals, folk clubs and front rooms alike.
For a taste of what is to come musically why not head over to the Rubber Wellies Website (Click here) – after which you are sure to join the queue for tickets to this concert.
