For our second event in 2016 Kettering Arts Centre is proud to present S’wonderful by Robert Habermann who will preform a Themed Show celebrating a centenary of George Gershwin’s life and music who was an American composer and pianist born on 26th September 1898. Gershwin’s compositions spanned both popular and classical genres, and his most popular melodies are widely known. Among his best-known works are the orchestral compositions Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris as well as the opera Porgy and Bess.

For those of you who remember George Gershwin’s timeless classics and also for those who might not have heard of him, or so you may think but, don’t be so sure! I have no doubt you’ll recognise the following video/audio tracks as these have been played over and over again in various motion pictures, theatre productions and countless concerts including regular entrances  in the The Proms formerly known as The BBC Proms.
